Peggy founded Peggy Berry Consulting after working for decades, with nonprofits, board of directors and donors, as a fundraising professional.
Her past professional work experience includes being the first development director at the East Texas Food Bank. Peggy's efforts increased donor support from 1,000 donors to more than 30,000 donors. She led the ‘Freeze Out Hunger’ capital campaign, raising over $4 million that led to a $1 million gift to establish the East Texas Food Bank Foundation. Her work was recognized by Feeding America- the nation’s food bank network for fundraising program and technology projects of the year.
She established the development office at the Stewart Regional Blood Center leading a campaign to raise money for laboratory equipment. Working in development with UT Health East Texas (formerly The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler) Peggy established the Research Council, and led fundraising projects for the research library, UT System and Board of Regents.
Volunteer work includes The Women’s Fund of Smith County, as a charter member, board member and first chair of the fund development committee. Peggy was the founding President of the East Texas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Peggy enjoys volunteering with her church, kayaking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
